The Sanford School’s Office of Research Opportunities supports faculty and staff secure funding for research, teaching and service. The menu to your right offers a list of topical grant and fellowship announcements that is updated on a regularly. Below, you can sign up to receive our regular newsletter, Research Opportunities.

The director of the office, Joseph McNicholas, is available to:

1. 1. Help Sanford faculty and staff search for grant and other research opportunities.
   2. Consult and assist individual investigators on grant preparation by reviewing and discussing the guidelines and creating winning strategies.
   3. Provide feedback and editing on grant narratives and submission materials.
   4. Coordinate faculty, grant managers and other support to prepare and submit proposals for funding.
   5. Facilitate cooperation with the Campus Grants Management Team in accordance with service partnership agreement for pre-award activities and post-award activities.
   6. Assist with inception and development of program ideas.
   7. Organize, facilitate, manage the development of new proposals and initiatives.
   8. Help submit complex research proposals, including collaborations within Duke University, partnerships outside Duke, and international projects.
